SD. Few people knew that last Sunday was World Skateboarding Day, but those who love the sport took advantage of the occasion to stage a peaceful protest which started at the park at the corner of Marzo 30 and Mexico streets in San Carlos.

In a brief speech, the organizers said they need a place to practice the sport, prior to disbanding quickly and skateboarded to the plaza at the Fray Anton de Montesinos monument on the Malecon, in the Colonial Zone.

Once there the skateboarders treated onlookers to a show of jumps and swirls to cap the event.
