New York. – Salsa singer Marc Anthony and business leader Henry Cardenas, who produces "Los Tres Grandes" (The Big Three), headed an auction in New York Thursday to raise funds for the Children of Christ Orphanage in the Dominican Republic.

"I met children who changed my life forever," the singer told Efe during the ceremony in Harlem’s Barrio Latino Museum, located in a building which when it opened in 1920 was precisely an orphanage.

The children Marc Anthony referred to live in the orphanage founded by Sonia Hanes, and the funds raised will build a residence and school for its more than 200 minors, and will cost from US$1.5 million to two million dollars, Cardenas said.

It's nice to see the rich and famous give back in such a big way. I'm reminded of a quote from an old friend who always said.

"Innocence at birth is non-debatable"
Zoltan Freidmann
"Auschwitz survivor"
1924-2002

After surviving Auschwitz after being liberated by the Russian army Zoltan with no surviving family would later move to the DR for a new start in life and lived in Sosua from early 1948-1956 before migrating to NYC. His memory will live in my heart forever.
