Santo Domingo.- British Ambassador Steven Fisher hosted a reception in his residence to discuss the "Ashy Faced Owl Conservation project," with joint funding by the United Kingdom’s North Wales Bird Trust and the Dominican Zoo (ZOODOM).

The tropical islands’ owls have never been studied in depth for which the results of the project have spurred high expectations here and abroad.

Like many species on Hispaniola island, the nocturnal hunter is threatened by the loss of its habitat.
