Washington Heights native announces NY Assembly bid

NY.- 72nd DistrictPart B leader Manny De Los Santos on Tuesday announced his candidacy for the 72ndAssembly district after winning reelection in his district seat on Thursday, ina close race against incumbent assemblyman Guillermo Linares.

In an statement DeLos Santos said he will challenge Linares for the Washington Heights Assemblyseat next fall. "I got into thepolitics to make a difference in this community, which I love so much, and Ibelieve the best way to do that is to run for the Assembly."

"I´m raising myfamily here and I want them to have the best schools and opportunities. I willwork day in and day out to make this a better place to live — not just collecta paycheck," De Los Santos said.
