US Embassy hosts Battery Dance troupe performances, workshops

Santo Domingo.- The United StatesEmbassy sponsors the visit of the dance troupe Battery Dance, which has been inthe country since February 8 to develop the Dancing to Connect program incollaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the National School of Dance andthe National System of Free Schools.

Seven troupe members, includingfive dancers, the group vice president and a technician implement the dance scenarioproject involving 80 youngsters from the National System of Free Schools andfacilitators of the National School of Dance to train in the methodology ‘Dancingto Connect.’

The dance program will run untilnext Saturday with a performance free to the public. The young participants willshare the stage with choreographers who teach in workshops. The event is set for5 pm in the Culture Ministry’s Enriquillo Sanchez salon.

Dancing to Connect (DTC) is anaward-winning initiative, created by Battery Dance of City of New York.
