35 new Peace Corps volunteers sworn in

SantoDomingo. – The United States Ambassador in the Dominican Republic, James W.Brewster, recently swore in 35 newspecialist volunteers at the Pantoja Training Center.

The newvolunteers underwent an intensive 10-week training process before startingtheir work in several communities across the country. They will spend two yearsin the Dominican Republic, working on community economic development and childliteracy projects.

AmbassadorBrewster highlighted that the Peace Corps works with communities to build theircapacities so that they may work towards their own solutions. There arecurrently 160 specialist volunteers from the United States working nationwide.
