From the Orient they came...

Santo Domingo.- To mark the Epiphany (Three Magi), the National Lottery and other government agencies, associations, political parties and their candidates, among others, donated toys to children from poor families.

Dominican Today reporter Alexandra Pope snapped this shot in front of the National Lottery building on Friday, where hundreds of kids gathered in lines to receive their gifts from “The Three Wise Men.”

Euromax, because it is not in the government's best interest to wake people up. This pic bring back so many memories when I was there and the same thing used to happen. My brother, sister and I were on line for hours upon hours waiting to get a small plastic car and doll for my sister. The poverty was so intensive, that my heart aces a bit and I am saddened just to think about it. A the same time I am amazed at how I was able to get out of that vicious cycle and break away from ignorance and poverty thanks to the good U.S.A. Another striking thing about this pic is the people within it, look closely at the color of skin. These people have kept down a for long time and the Dominant group continues to keep them down by denying them a good education and preventing them from entering the upper strata job positions. This is not good for a mulatto and black nation. Whites are a minority with just 16% of population, but they control the nation. These people need to wake up.

Because is giving that politicians will receive back (a vote), and by giving they will be reminded as the ¨good in the movie¨, and the politics of giving is one of the best for politicians who act as the ¨three wise men¨ (a coincidence with our three major parties´ candidates).
