SANTO DOMINGO.- The wage increase disposed by the National Salaries Committee (CNS) for the non-sectored workers is in effect starting today, which became effective for the private sector on June 1.
The increase takes effect once Resolution 1-2009 is published, which establishes a 15% increase to the minimum wage for the non-sectored workers of the private sector, and the decision was adopted since July 7, after hearing the position of the management and labor representatives.
The resolution establishes an increase from RD$7,360 to RD$8,465 for industrial, commercial or services companies. It also increases from RD$5,060 to RD$5,820 for workers in industrial, commercial or services companies, whose facilities or inventory, or both elements combined, equals or exceeds RD$2.0 million and 4,485 to 5,158 in small businesses.
