Port-au-Prince.– US celebrity Matt Damon has donated US$2 million through his Water.org site to help people in Haiti. Damon, 38, announced on September 22 at the launch of the 2009 Clinton Global Initiative that his non-profit group would be helping to provide clean water and sanitation to 50,000 people in Haiti.

"Water.org will deliver at least $2 million to fund this commitment," Damon pointed out. The project is called Safe Water and Sanitation For the People of Haiti, but has been called Haiti Challenge as a nickname.

Matt,

make sure you personally deliver whatever it is you will deliver, and DO NOT GIVE ANYTHING to politicians, military and community organizers.

Some NGOs, maybe established churches.

This is good news to a country that only gets bad media and hurricane after hurricane. The revitalization of Haiti is not only good for Haiti, but also for us on the other side. We need a healthy and stable Haiti and hopefully the immigration issue will soon be resolved in peaceful and respectful manner. President Clinton has also allocated more that 200 millions to haiti over the next few years. moreover, Venezuela is currently building power plants, new airport runway and other infrastructure as part of their aid package to Haiti.
