Santo Domingo.- The presidential candidate of the minority party FNP and Deputy of the pro-government coalition denounced Sunday that human traffickers use trails through the mountains which straddle the Dominican-Haiti border to smuggle Haitians and other undocumented people.

Pelegrín Castillo said the situation is no secret which the Government hasn’t dealt with, because while it asks the international community to assume its responsibility with Haiti’s misfortune, its actions are “island-locking” the crisis with that nation.

Interviewed by Héctor Herrera Cabral on Channel 11, the political leader warned that Haitian’s dramatic situation is threatening Dominican Republic’s stability.

The lawmaker also slammed the Cesfront Border Guards and the Army for in his view letting the security of the border slip away from their hands. “It’s no secret for anyone of the mountain paths where traffickers cross illegals to Dominican Republic, not only Haitian citizens but also from other parts of the world.”

Castillo added that the more than 200,000 Haitians whom in his view remained in the country after the January 12 quake which devastated that nation brought the number of those who legally as well as illegally two more than million. “That is in plain view of everybody, for every 10 people your see any place here two of them are Haitian nationals.”

I could only hope the FNP won the presidency and controlled congress in allegiance with the remainder of the PRSC !

We need a nationalist government to deal with this otherwise we should leave the country to be devasted by the locusts from the west!

Haiti and Haiti's minions are a threat to Dominican sovereignty and national security. When will ever the Dominican government learn? That it's essential to create a physical border an uncorrupt entity of people, that are educated on the threat, that are well paid, and also equipped to properly do their job, so like this we will avoid the impending calamity. In this issue and many others the Dominican government has been highly inept.

The Cesfront Border Guards and the Army are running a bussiness there and the worst thing is that the goverment knows all about it, and don't do anything to stop it. They all a bunch of corrupt and criminals. You can't trust a dominican goverment employee, they all bunch of morrons, the sad part is the citizen of DR have to put up with it, and all the crimes that is bringing to the country everyday, inocent people are loosing their live, because the criminal taking over, and all because of a bunch of police, military and goverment bastard that let all this happen for a few bucks.

Leo Fernandez is a wussy. He is afraid to act in the face of danger, just like the cowardly Lion in The Wizzard of Oz,who shivers more than it purrs. Alice is Margarita Cedeno who lives in lala land that together with the other poltical Jabronies are following the yellow brick road chasing after the Great Wizarz, (the US and IMF) and the Lions looks to them(Oz) to get his courage. (courage=$ int'l loans as his sustenance to help him stay in power) The little Munchkins are the Dominican people and Leo Fdz represents a cowardly lion unable to do anything for them.

In deed the DR is a real wonderland, in spite of dictatorships, coup d'etats, chieftains, revolutions, invasions, rampant corruption, illegal aliens, crooked cops and military, social breakdown, poverty, drugs, inept gov't officials, bank scandals, embezzlement and misappropriation of government funds, unlike Haiti, the country still remains standing strong, a true wonderland indeed. But for how long will it remain as such.

All our other problems as a nation have no importance if we don't solve the Haitian problem and we can either solve it within the confines of legality or wait till all hell breaks loose . We cannot let these corrupt politicans destroy what our forefathers gave their blood and in many cases their lives to avoid!

Guille ,unless something is done very quickly and without hesitation our nation is doomed and the whole island will become a deserted latrine ,an ecological and human disaster and an island of complete misery .

I urge all who vote to pressure the politicians ,speak to their relatives and make the border and illegal situation one of prime importance and one that no politician can avoid without risking a defeat !

We need a Dominican Tea Party (or coffee) to push the traditional parties in the only way we can show them which is votes. At this moment only the FNP defends our sovereignty because even the shell of the PRSC has sold out to the PLD and Leonels sneaky Haitianization of the country !

cbelk99-As a teen-ager I use to spend week-ends in Moca and some times went over to nearby Juan Lopez to visit friends. I remember it to be a nice place with good people and a lot of great looking girls. I always wanted to go back as an adult to visit but never really had a chance. Just wonder how things are today and has it changed or have they remained relatively the same.

pepe32-I will support any party who will protect the security of our country and not sell out for personal gain as evident by all the traditional political parties. If the FNP is the only one who will defend our sovereignty then they will have my vote and so be it. Every Dominican citizen with the foresight should do the same and support that unless everything and anything is done to shield the border against the massive invasion, there will be no future as a nation.

Guille ,I wish I could tell for sure ,traditionally only the PRSC used to care but now all the parties seem to be in the same sack and only the FNP actually "speaks" firmly on the issue but they are allied with the PLD so I don't know how much weight can be given to their official comments.

All I know is that the point of no return is quickly arriving and only an unforseen outbreak of violence or an unforseeable change in the political structure can change this.

I fear it will get to the point of large scale bloodshed for the powers at hand to change course and that is my "positive" outlook because the other is the complete loss of our nation and the ursupation of our land by those recent arrivals from western Hispaniola . Just the though of our beautiful land laid waste by the western locusts should be enough to drive anyone who loves our nation to tears or fury or both.
I feel sorry for those who have no way out because their future is very grim.

I know the truth is something Haitians are not used to hearing and it must irritate you but I can assure you that if all the Haitians left my country we would not be talking about Haitians at all but as long as your people are flooding illegally into my country we can complain as much as we like because your people have NO RIGHT WHATSOEVER on this side of the island

First of all monsieur locust ,I could care less what you "think" or your ASSumptions .Your people are the worst thing that could that could have happened to this beautiful island and your opinions or "thoughts" don't matter to me .The only group that I feel compassion for in Haiti is the children for they are not guilty of the faults of their parents who continue to bring child after child into the world when they already don't have the basic necessities!

As far as Trujillo ,I am sure he killed more of my family than he did yours and the fact that he was part Haitian doesn't surprise me because most of the more backwards features in my country came from the horrible occupation of your barbaric armies and the uncontrolled influx.

I find it funny when Haitians talk about Dominican women ,especially since I can go into Santiago and find your sisters and cousins at bargain basement prices although most of them are so ugly and smell so bad one would have to be either really cheap or desperate to go that route.

Another point is your internal slavery system (restavik) which is embarrassing for anyone to criticize others when you sell your children.Haitians are not in any moral or logical position to criticise ANY nation on this earth because you are one of the top ranking in most of the negative ratings for a nation .So piti please... fix your own sad excuse for a nation and then come back to preach.

Final note ,a nation founded on racist hatred with racist constitutions should not be lecturing anyone about racism ..you are the epitome of a racist state and it is your racism that has put you where you are today ,removing human assets that could have made Haiti at least liveable and not the hell hole it is!

First of all you are not here as a Trinidadian but as a another Haitian obsessed with my country so please spare me the speech.Second of all without without petroleum Trinidad which is a little spec would be just another little hell hole although not as bad as Haiti because Trinidiadians had been civilised a bit more before their independance so monsieur locust as a Haitian you cannot talk while your relatives are selling themsleves in DR and if they weren't so fugly they would be in demand in other places .

Again in your idiocy you speak of Trujillo who I am sure killed more of my relatives than yours so any mention of this bloodthirsty animal (shows he had Haitian blood!) is ridiculous and shows how ignorant you are about Dominican history vis a vis Haiti.

Like all your stupid brethren you confuse the slaves brought by Spain who mixed with the existing white and mestizo population 1495-1700's and formed the nucleus of what is today DR and the slaves imported by the French

who are the people who call themselves "Haitian" today .Your ancestors have a scarce presence on this island and have maintianed your pure West African bloodlines and culture while we are as even some Haitians have accused us "mixed breed" or pejoratively by some Haitian poster "Mulos" but unlike Haitians or other Afronazis we are actually proud of our multiracial and multicultural nation.

So please Mr Piti you can rant and rave and call me all the names you want but in the eyes of most of the world Haiti is a hellhole full of ignorant people ,a welfare state that has been a failure since its inception and all even with all the negatives you try to use against my country nobody would ever choose Haiti over DR ...not even the Haitians who flock to my country in droves trying to escape that hell on earth called Haiti Maudite!

Now you really should focus on helping your savage people who are mainly illiterate and mostly barbaric to improve because we could care less what you think!

"Haitians are not stupid people since they were the first black independent Carib nation."

One small note,Haitians becoming independent had nothing to do with being smart piti it had to do with a small insect called the malaria mosquito, overwhelming numbers against the French and that same barbarism which have made it ungovernable .

Those barbaric hordes crossed over to our side and comitted horrible and unspeakable acts and even after we kicked your barbarous arses back to Haiti you continued to invade us over and over although we beat you back every time ...so I guess we beat the "armies" that "beat" the French which makes us a great military power (in the silly Haitian manner of seeing things)

What a frickin hypocrite ,so your Jesus doesn't want you to be nasty on Sunday but it's fine to be nasty and talk about Dominican women and Dominicans in general Monday through Saturday !!

Unless your lord is shango.or any one of the demon gods worshipped in Haiti then your idiocy doesn't make sense!

You should dedicate yourself to your nation that has shamefully accepted demon worship as an official religion and where vudu is commonplace. You should puch for the elimination of the restavik system and the governments that allow modern day slavery to take place.

You see instead of looking for issues with others you should clean up your act otherwise you are just another hypocrite!
