Dear Blutarsky.
Sometimes , there are events, situations that you can not comprehend and do not care for.
Be wise enough to keep your immaturity and your ignorance hidden.
Do not make an ass of yourself.
Thank you

"Fernandez and Patterson discussed the topics addressed in the Preparatory Technical Conference for Haiti, with delegates from 28 donor countries debating the aid for Haiti," the DT reports.

0000

Most likely, Patterson visits DR just to get his ear full on news about the donor meeting this week. Caricom wants to know what's going on. So, Patterson who still has a lot of influence in the Caribbean, drops by to get ear full, although he has been out of power for years. Haiti is a Caricom member; so, Patterson either has gone or will go next to Port au Prince to get his other ear full.

LF, with cleverness of Fidel or Hugo, understands Caricom has 14 votes in the UN, OAS, and new Community of Latin American and Caribbean Unity which will replace the Rio Group. LF is trying to get a big cut of the $2.2B that the UN has raised for Haiti's recovery. So, LF can foresee the possibility that Caricom's 14 votes may come in handy.

So, LF gave Patterson a good ear full.

Everyone wants in on the billions to save Haiti bonanza; if it ever gets beyond the planning stage, this is just one of many friendly meetings and photo-ops with LF. He plays honest host because he understands that by doing so he demonstrates he understands the international Pro-haitian concerns and, also, that by doing so the DR will enhance its take of the expected development funding. I doubt that the DR will actually put up the funds for even 1/4 the cost of the university in question. But if outside funding offers contracts for Dominican builders and suppliers, it's a win-win situation. The CARICOM have never been too hospitable to the DR and put-off trade negotiations during the 1990s and early 2000s because they feared the comparative advantages of the DR. If you go to their web-site, it is only recently that they even covered the news coming from DR in the true sense, often confusing DR with Dominica on the web-site. I don't think it was unintentional.

President Leonel Fernandez is right in what he is doing, but he is wrong not knowing that before you do something for someone, that someone should get in the same page you are. Haiti is against recognizing that the name of our island is Santo Domingo, making our Constitution a "piece of paper" and our President a "fool". Unless our President demand from Haiti to change the name of the island in her Constitution, everything he does may be taken as if from a "naive" and "foolish" polititian. So, we ask our President, Leonel Fernandez, to stand in his foot and defend our Constitution and the principle Duarte and the Trinitarian fought for, that the name of our island, that we share with Haiti, is Santo Domingo and not Haiti. We are a "Dominican Republic" because of that Trinitarian claim, and not a "Haitian Republic". This is the premise for us to adopt our proper name, our National Identity of Quisqueyan.
