Ultra distance swimmer will fight for the Millennium Development Goals

Santo Domingo.- The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) today appointed open water swimming  champ Marcos Diaz, its National Good Will Ambassador for the Millennium Development Goals, just six months after his “Swim through the Continents” to promote those objectives.

Diaz has often proven that he can be part of the solution to pressing local and global issues.

Together with a coalition of private and public organizations, and the support of the United Nations, Diaz the passage “Swim through the Continents” in which his marathon swims linked the five continents, concluding it in New York, where he handed a book to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon with signatures gathered around the world.
