Sabana de la Mar, Dominican Republic.- Two more bodies have been spotted in the water just 24 hours after the Navy indefinitely suspended the search for possible survivors from the boat packed with undocumented travelers that sank February 6.

This time the grim discovery was the scenic San Lorenzo Bay, next to the mouth of Caño Hondo River, Los Haitises National Park, bringing the number of fatal victims in the country’s worst ever boatpeople tragedy to 56.

The makeshift boat called a yola set sail for Puerto Rico with around 70 undocumented people, of which around 13 managed to survive by swimming ashore in the Bay’s usually rough waters.

Members of Navy mount an operative one to remove both from the water to bodies, that were sighted in the referred zone.

I thought I read they left Nagua and the boat broke up when it ran on to a coral reef. Then how come:
1) They ended up deep inside Samana Bay,
2) so few survivors in shallow, sheltered tropical waters and
3) the captain was one of the very few survivors?

frank,
It is deep in Samana Bay, on the southern side.
You can find it with Google Maps.

This story has too many holes to make sense.
