Santo Domingo.- More than three of every four DT readers say president Leonel Fernandez should deal with the country’s economic problems first, instead of promoting his anti-speculation stance in world forums.

When asked “What's your take on the President's stance on global speculation?,” the response “He should deal with it at home first  drew 2,702 votes, or 76.48%, followed by “He's way over his head,” with 727 votes, or 20.58% of the readers.

With just 56 votes (1.59%), the option “Not sure, the UN speech will tell,” came in third place, while “He has the right idea” had only 48 votes, or 1.36% of those who took part in DT’s unscientific weekly poll.

I don't understand why is this of any concern, this is the first poll of its kind in 3 illegal terms of this hose bag and now someone(DT) wants a poll of what people think this con artist should be doing....the only thing he could do is raid the banks before he bounces...

8yrs too late!!!

Here's one solution:

San Cristóbal.- La doctora Margarita Cedeño de Fernández afirmó que el gobierno que encabezará el licenciado Danilo Medina movilizará cielo y tierra para acopiar los recursos económicos que requerirán el ambicioso programa nacional de generación de empleos que aplicará a partir del 16 de agosto que abarcará la industria, agropecuaria, servicios, pequeña y mediana empresa.

She is able to make that promise because she knows that there are no jobs and this is what the people want to hear.

Here is the real solution:

Throw the bums out and replace them with officials that want to improve the country, not just their bank balances.
Enforce the laws already on the books.
Pay our police a living wage.

Try that.

JuanB:

The goverment dont have a mgic ball to solve all the problems in the world..
but with the resources they have I think they accomplish a lot of things, and build a lot of things as well..things you can see, touch and use everyday..

On other side , you see the other parties promising everyhting and havent done nothing.. as usual..

So, it doesnt take a Eintein to know which one is a better option..

When he was the minister of presidency he was famous for being the most dynamic guy that has ever been in that position.. So I guess he will acomplish a lot of things as well..

Honestly, without any doubt and passion, I think we will have a great goverment..

The poll was not about who will screw this country less, the PLD or the PRD. It was about Leo's prancing on the world stage. He must have delusions of grandeur if he thinks the world is going to head the advice of the outgoing president of this insignificant country.

I don't know how someone could support a president that doesn't believe in or follow the laws of the constitution and allows the mismanagement of the Island, even worse, lets forget about the presidential title here.....How can anyone support someone that SHAKES YOUR HAND, SIGN A DOCUMENT AND GIVES YOU HIS WORD THEN TURNS AROUND AND SAY IT NEVER HAPPENED, where is the moral value here..There are ways to control these type of people....Let's get it done already, we are not dealing with the Royal Arms.

They say "Birds of a feather flock together"......damn idioms
