SANTO DOMINGO.- European Development Fund coordinator Domingo Jimenez on Tuesday asked the European Commission to refrain from unilateral action regarding the new program cycle 11th  European Development Fund and the decisions agreed with Asian, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries.

The official, after being elected president and spokesman for the multi-regional bloc of 79 nations, urged the European countries not to deviate their cooperation from the alignment and harmony to ensure the effectiveness of the development programs in recipient nations.

Jimenez, addressing the European bloc chaired by Denmark Cooperation and Development Minister Christian Friis (co-chair of the Joint Session (ACP-EU), called on the European Union to “exert is traditional political will to ensure the achievement of the objectives.”

He said there have been proposals to hit those targets and in that manner contribute to reduce and finally eradicate poverty."We are obliged to achieve success for our proposals, we have no right to fail in this task."

Domingo Jimenez is asking Europe to keep helping the poor ACP countries. But Europe is today starting its own meeting of heads of governments, to alleviate the economic problems of the European Union. Mr. Jimenez should be a little bit more realistic. If two poor countries help each other, the result will be very poor indeed.
(He should also close his mouth when taking a photograph, he looks like a moron.)
