Port au Prince.– Deaths by cholera in Haiti have increased in recent months because of the lack of funds to fight the disease, said a UN official.

According to head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), John Ging, Haiti urgently needs new donors to tackle the disease, which so far this year has left at least 132 dead and some 13,000 infected.

Ging described as unacceptable that lives are lost because of the lack of resources to prevent and treat the illness in the last few months. He highlighted the need for a new approach in the fight against cholera by international agencies and authorities, and the need for greater social engagement.

Some other country needs to just take over for Haiti's government. So much money is donated there yearly and that money is never properly used for the people. The people are too scared to stand up for themselves and the government there has not fixed anyone in a long time things just get worse. Some other country needs to step up and fix that place so maybe they won't want to cross over to our side all the time and make a decent life for themselves in their own country.

That money is never given to the Haitian government, hell they don usually get a said on how it is spend. It is given to the NGO's of the donnor countries where 60 cent of each dollar spend is return back to the countries of origin-There are about 10k NGO's operating in Haiti some of them don't even borther to register with the government but able to get funding to rent from some of the Posh neighborhood while driving around in brand new LandCruisers.
