Santo Domingo - To improve the quality of the infrastructure for cocoa and coffee post-harvest, for food security and adaptation to climate change, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), through its Rural Economic Diversification Project channeled more than RD$22.8 million as part of its co-investment fund to support 12 projects in the country's agricultural clusters.
"The goal of USAID is to ensure that small and medium rural businesses have access to resources for the sustainability of their business and boost competitiveness in the face of trade liberalization," said USAID Economic Policy Coordinator Luis Gonzalez.
The funds will target vulnerable projects in the area of Miches, eastern El Seibo province.
