Santo Domingo.-  UN secretary general Ban Ki-moon yesterday hailed president Danilo Medina’s Administration, for stressing education and employment.

"His vision is extraordinary," he said after listening to Medina’s proposals and actions to benefit the poorest Dominican families.

"The areas which the Dominican government has decided to prioritize play an important role in sustainable development of peoples every where in the world, given that it directly affects the reduction of poverty and social inequality," he said.

Ban described as revealing Medina’s willingness to allocate 4% of the GDP to education, build 18,000 classrooms, 10,000 of them in the first year, and seek the eradication of illiteracy. He said they’re steps aimed at ensuring a better future for Dominicans.
