Santo Domingo.- The director of the government’s  basic medicines program (Promese/Cal) -considered the most transparently managed agency by several  surveys- announced an increase of its inventory of products this year, and the installation of a pharmacy in each village and municipality.

Elena Fernández Nuñez said Promese/Cal works to establish a modern medicine management system and participation of a pioneering microenterprise, for which recently called for tenders for the project worth more than RD$1.45 billion.

She said in compliance with the Procurement Law, her agency was the first to use the Unified Medication Management System (SUGEMI) to buy quality medicines and supplies in volume toilets and at low cost, to benefit the population’s most vulnerable sectors in a timely manner.

The official noted that the purchases aim to cover other diseases that hadn’t been included in its array of products and will supply a network of 435 “People's Pharmacy” in every province, 146 hospitals, 712 primary attention units and more than 2.3 million people in the Social Security System.

"This procedure of transparency conducted by Promese/Cal during seven years means an economy of scale that trims public spending on health and on spending by the pocket of the population, aside from ensuring quality medicines at low cost," said Fernández Nuñez quoted by diariolibre.com.

Speaking of Medicine when will Lie-onel get his?

When will Lie-onel be held accountable?

“Corruption was served with the large spoon during the Government of Leonel Fernández”

“During the past administration an audit revealed the malversation of more than 100 million pesos in a public hospital”

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic.-The Chamber of Accounts of the Dominican Republic (CCRD) detected that in the last Government occurred an embezzlement of more than 100 million pesos in the General Regional Hospital Doctor Marcelina Vélez Santana, located in Santo Domingo Oeste, Santo Domingo province.

This embezzlement, combined with expenditure, occurred at a time in which many public hospitals did not have money or to buy aspirin or serums to their patients, (but we had money to build a USELESS METRO says josean) as it was proven after the change of Government, both by denunciations of the Dominican Medical College and by statements made by the new authorities of public health.

How many People Died because of not have proper medications due to Lie-onel Thievery?

Exactly what Danilo has to be doing. Remember that Leonel already did the heavy lifting by building the national infrastructure (Metro, Highway, Bridges, Schools, Hospitals, etc.), and now Danilo only needs to invest on social services (the people) and complete some key projects.

Then Leonel will be back in 2016 to guide the DR to the next level of national development.

Pedernales, San José de Ocoa, Samana and Azua”

“The biggest public investments will go to 25 poorest provinces, said economy and planning”

“He points out that the budget is considered a primary weapon to govern with, so 2013 will be the first year that President Danilo Medina, who took power in August 2012, will count "with his own weapon".

The main concern I have with medecine being dished out in the DR is the quality of it and the expiry date . From time to time I need anti inflamatories and when I bring my last packet in to a pharmacy I am offered an alternative brand .On two occasions I have been ill after taking them. I also wonder about some tablets sold to assist sleeping which do not list the ingrediants

FOOD X THOUGHTS- REALITY CHECK:

You CANNOT RUN from the truth!!!!
