Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic’s  Chamber of Deputies yesterday approved a US$130.0 million loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), to fund the welfare system called Programa Solidaridad.

Though the agreement was signed last October 25, the 2012 Budget didn’t include such financing, for which a bill had to be submitted for Congress’ approval, states the attached letter sent by the Presidency to the lawmakers.

The deputies accepted a proposal by the Finance Commission to declare the bill urgent, and approved in two consecutive roll calls.

"Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic’s Chamber of Deputies yesterday approved a US$130.0 million loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), to fund the welfare system called Programa Solidaridad."

I'm sure the DR "FORCED" the IDB to do so. LOL

And, The World Bank and the IMF aren't in contact with the IDB.

WOW! DR can really FORCE its policies on these institutions. LOL

Of course, IF THE DR ACTUALLY captured the 16.43% of GDP as the CEPAL economic study estimates it should garner, perhaps these measures wouldn't be necessary.

:)

Tocayo,

Try reading for a change: CEPAL

macroeconomía del desarrollo

Tax structure and tax evasion in Latin America

Juan Carlos Gómez Sabaini
Juan Pablo Jiménez

cepal.org/publicaciones/xml/5/45935/SERIE_MD_118.pdf

And we're all named Juan!

Not a very difficult read, even Dready could do the reading!

Try it, you'll see things in better perspective and gain lots of information concerning the state of our economy.

Dready is terrified that Dominicans read this economic study.

What do they need this US$130millions for? I thought by increasing taxes with (El Paquetaso)they
met all the needs there were? What welfare programs are they stipulating this time ? the school
lunches and breakfast or the completion of the METRO?

Dread, Josean:
Did they call off those Deputies abroad to represent Dominicans? If they did not I think that would be a waist to keep them, since neitherr the Consuls nor Vise Consuls are ever to be found, when needed. The same would happen with those useless appointees.

Dready,

Projecting your frustrations? Accept your sinful ways and repent. You've lost other battles and lived to see a better day, no. 25 years ago?

Allow the Dominican people to read and determine for themselves their economic future without all your Mumbo jumbo.

Unable to deal with the Big Guns of the World Bank working paper, the Cepal economic study and Jacques Attali's economic study of the DR, Dready's ONLY recourse is to character assassinate posters on DT.

What a shame. Poor Dready doesn't have the mantle to get it up for a real fight.

All those 45 years and he can't handle it. What happened to that magic 8-ball?

Tax Capacity and Tax Effort:
Extended Cross-Country Analysis from 1994 to 2009

Group 1: Low Collection and Low Effort

"When we compare the findings of Le, Moreno-Dodson, and Rojchaichaninthorn (2008)
..

The collection of taxes in this group of countries is currently low and lies below their respective
taxable capacity. These countries have potential to succeed in deepening comprehensive tax
policy and administration reforms focusing on revenue enhancement. Given the importance of
the governance quality as a determinant of tax revenues, any improvements in this dimension can
help this group of countries have higher efficiency in terms of lower administrative and
compliance costs, encourage investment and mitigate evasion. "

Quess where DR is located according to this World Bank working paper? Low Collection Low Effort!

Dready,

You are OUT of your league.

The Big Boys speak, and you're left with your Magic 8-Ball all "Limp, lame and lazy"
