Stay in school, it will pay off: US envoy tells special students

SD. US ambassadorJames W. Brewster on Monday visited the Fundación Centro Nueva Esperanza accompaniedby Sur Futuro president Melba Grullón and US Agency for InternationalDevelopment (USAID) director Alexandria L. Panehal, to mark InternationalLiteracy Day.

During his visit Brewsterdonated to participants of the "Spaces to Grow (EPC)" copies of thebook of short stories "Adventures and magical encounters" written bychildren in Dominican public schools, carried out under the Effective SchoolsProgram implemented by the Pontifical University (PUCMM) sponsored by USAID.

In his discussionwith the girls of the foundation, the diplomat urged them to continue theirstudies and become good professionals. "You are at an important level ofyour lives and your commitment to education will pay off in the future, you areexamples for other students to stay in school."
