Chattanooga.– The Dominican Republic’s national championship Women’s Fast Pitch Softball Team will play two of Chattanooga’s best 18 year old all-star teams on June 12th and 13th 6:00 p.m. at Frost Stadium, located at Warner Park.

Mayor Littlefield will welcome the international players and throw the first pitch at Monday evening’s game.

According to UTC Softball Coach Frank Reed, “We are excited that this team is coming to Chattanooga and we want to encourage the local Hispanic community to come to the game and show their support."

It is also a fun way for kids from the Hispanic communities to get involved in local softball leagues and other sports programs offered through the city’s parks and recreation department."

Local softball teams, the “Chattanooga Raiders” and the “Chattanooga Eagles” will participate in two double headers each evening and provide a formidable challenge for the Dominican Republic team that is in town to train with Coach Reed for the upcoming Central American Games this summer in Columbia.
