Santo Domingo.- Alex Rodríguez, of the New York Yankees, was voted on Monday the Most Valuable Placer (MVP) of the American League.

Rodríguez, of Dominican parents, beat out Venezuela’s Magglio Ordoñez, obtaining 26 of the 28 first place votes, for 382 points.

The Dominicans Vladimir Guerrero, of the Los Angeles Angels, was third in points with 203, and David Ortiz, of the Boston Red Sox was fourth with 171.

Rodríguez now joins the legendary players Yogi Berra, Roy Campanella, Joe DiMaggio, Jimmie Foxx, Mickey Mantle, Stan Musial y Mike Schmidt, all with three MVPs each.

Mr Alex Rodriguez is not Dominican but North American (gringo) he made this very clear when he chose to play baseball for team USA instead of the Dominican team remember? Also MVP in baseball can usually hit the ball in the month of October (remember Reggie Jackson?).

I guess you feel I have no reason to state my love for DR since i was born in New York. And YES I AM AMERICAN! and Proud but i will never denounce my Dominican culture!
