SANTO DOMINGO. – The Santo Domingo team Tigueres del Licey beat the Estrellas of San Pedro 4-0, but yesterday’s most stunning game in Dominican winter baseball took place in San Francisco, where that city’s Gigantes del Cibao won over the Leones 3-1, to classify for the four-team playoffs slated to start on Wednesday, the 26th.

On Saturday, the Toros of La Romana had been eliminated.

However, the 4-0 shutout in the Quisqueya stadium didn’t keep the Estrellas from classifying for the round robin, helped by the defeat of the Leones in San Francisco’s Julian Javier park.
