Santo Domingo .- Dominican Ariel Corniel, 16, won 6,000 euros for his 1st-place finish in in the Free Style category, during the 10th version of the World Championship Kiteboard Pro World Tour (KPWT) 2008, held from April 29 to May 4 in France.

The championship, held at Gilles St. Croix de Vie, Vendee (west), attracted 49 competitors from around the world where Dominican Republic was represented by Ariel Corniel, Alex Soto, Jan Marco Rivera, Alberto Peralta, Juan Carlos Morel and Emmanuel Rondon.
