London.– Taiwan's Tsung-hua Yang has advanced beyond the first round of the boys singles event at Junior Wimbledon as expected.
On Saturday Yang defeated Jose Hernandez of the Dominican Republic in two straight sets 6-4 and 6-2.
Yang said after the match that he was pleased with the win as it marked a good start. However, he said he did not play well in the game as he was still adapting himself to the grasscourt event. This is Yang's first presence at Wimbledon, the world's oldest tennis championship.
Yang is the second top seed at Junior Wimbledon. Earlier this month he won the junior boys singles title at the French Open. He was also the runner-up at the Australian Open in January.
