Santo Domingo. - The battery company Cometa announced its support for drag racing organized by the company Fever Entertainment in the Mobil 1 speedway, becoming an official sponsor for the Wednesday and Saturday races.

Cometa advertising director Jose Enrique Nuñez said Cometa aims to create an enjoyable place for the entire family every Wednesday and Saturday in the modern speedway.

Hector Zayas, of Fever Entertainment, said its support for drag-racing in Dominican Republic would take street-racing away from the country's streets. "Mobil 1 speedway has all the security measures to protect racers."

Mobil 1 speedway general manager Hugo Beras said the Cometa Group's support is proof the sport of drag-racing is growing in the Dominican Republic.
