Beijing.– Host China maintained its supremacy over the world by winning the highest number of gold medals at the end of the Olympic Games 2008 here on Sunday.

China topped the medals table at the Beijing Olympics with 51 golds while the United States came second with 36 and the Russian Federation finished third with 23.

They were followed by Great Britain (19), Germany (16), Australia (14), South Korea (13), Japan (9) and Italy (8) while France, Netherlands and Ukraine won seven gold medals each.

Jamaica obtained six, Kenya and Spain got five each while Belarus, Ethiopia and Romania secured four golds each.

Nine countries – Canada, Poland, Hungary, Norway, Brazil, Czech Republic, Slovakia, New Zealand and Germany won three gold medals each.

Nine more countries won two gold medals each. They were Cuba, Kazakhstan, Denmark, Mongolia, Thailand, North Korea, Argentina, Switzerland and Mexico.

What did you want the foreign athletes to face been shot by a red firing squad? They might be dumb, by going all the way to China to play against professional military trained "athletes", but they ain't stupid. remember, Tianamen SQ., it's only been 19 years, some of the athletes there remember. Toto, we're not in Barcelona, anymore. Gooooooooooooooollllllll! USA, USA, USA!

Mongolia? What they got two gold medals? They're occupied by China,,,,,You know like the Iron Curtain.....Those medals belong to China, and the Maoist Revolutionaries...Go china..Go china.

What about Dominican Republic? We won a gold medal. In Athens 2004 I believe we won one gold medal, Beijing 2008 - 1 Gold & 1 Silver, hopefully at the 2012 London games we'll win three medals or more. Wepa!
