Boston.– David Ortiz and his wife, Tiffany Ortiz, announced the inaugural David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic in his native Dominican Republic December 4th-7th, 2008.

The fund-raising event directly supports the David Ortiz Children's Fund which is dedicated to raising funds for children in New England and the Dominican Republic and providing access to the pediatric care they need to live full and productive lives.

"David and Tiffany's commitment to children is evident in the lifesaving care they have provided to many children in need over the years. This past year alone over 40 children received open heart surgery because of the Ortiz's dedication. We commend the Ortiz's support and recognize this golf tournament will help expand the number of children we are able to help in all critical care aspects," says Susan Rickman, President of the International Hospital for Children (IHC).
