New York.– Twelve more players from Latin American teams were suspended Friday for testing positive for banned performance-enhancing drugs under baseball's minor league program.
Six players each were suspended from the Venezuelan Summer League and the Dominican Summer League.
Penalized from the VSL were Pittsburgh first baseman Kelly Aponte and Julio Joves (both metabolites of Nandrolone); Philadelphia pitchers Luis Castillo (metabolite of Boldenone) and Ricciard Rodriguez (metabolites of Nandrolone); and Detroit pitchers Eduardo Gonzalez and Wilsen Palacios (both metabolites of Nandrolone).
All six suspended from the DSL tested positive for a metabolite of Boldenone: Washington outfielder Weesley Hernandez, Oakland pitcher Eyffer Peralta, Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Ramos, Seattle outfielder Cristian Rijo, Atlanta pitcher Milton Rosman and Texas outfielder Cristian Zapata.
All suspensions will begin at the start of next season. A total of 53 minor leaguers have received bans since July 25, including 39 from the DSL and 10 from the VSL.

It would only take a few of them to get the message across loud and clear without any language barriers.
Ban them for life!
Jokes are allow to come up, but it doesn't stop me to be proud of our basseball players.
If you fall under drugs or not, is a personal decision which is all about self-esteem and the level of information you have.
Maybe that happened to those guys , otherwise, they perhaps weren't expecting to reach success or just play for fun, every one in the world knows that drugs are ilegal and harmfuls.
