Santo Domingo.– Albert Pujols is encouraging the St. Louis Cardinals to sign Manny Ramirez. The Cardinals slugger, who won his second NL MVP award in November, acknowledged the team might not have enough money to land the free-agent outfielder.

"I speak with Manny every three days and he tells me, 'Man, no one wants to sign me,' I'm not an agent or general manager, but I can't understand how Manny has not signed." Pujols said during a news conference.

no one wants manny because he is a 37 year old selfish loose cannon but a great hitter with no glove and a bad attitude.....everybody would want Don Alberto because he is a gentleman and a tremendous all around player who is just 29.....manny is radioactive.....he will sign with the dodgers or another west coast team [mucho mexicanos] for 1 to 3 years with unusual escape options for everybody

I want Omar Minaya to get serious about avoiding another Mets September meltdown and put a two year offer on the table for Manny. Throw another 10 million on top of the two year offer the Dodgers made him and I think we can do something. The problem with Manny is that he wants a four year deal and he's just not going to get it at 37....and not for the money he wants. He's not actually worth the offer the Dodgers made to him, but you can't deny the guy puts up numbers. But I would love to see him in the same batting order with Delgado, Wright, Reyes, and Beltran. With all the work Omar has done so far in shoring up the bullpen and rotation, he's given little consideration to the Mets gaping hole in left field. He's certainly built a playoff team so far this off season, but I'd like another hot bat to get us over the top.

No, GC.....I don't think so. Not this year. With the acquisition of K-Rod and J.J. Putz the bullpen is far stronger. And expect Johan to have another stellar year. Besides, the Mets could be worse off....After missing the post season by one game the least that can be said is they're not the Yankees..... I think the bombers were 10 games out from getting in last year - with the largest payroll in the game I might add. Omar has made drastic improvements, but he needs to do more.

Manny is a great player and a selfish quitter and bully ( just ask the 64 year old traveling secretary of the Red Sox who he pushed to the ground when his request fot 16 tickets for an away game was turned down). Radioactive.

Yeah radioactive... A radioactive winner! That contaminates his teammates with winning. Who knows what happend wit that travel guy in Boston. Boston has a history of treating its colored players terribly. Look at the constant whitening of that team since Pedro left its pathetic, not to mention the history they have of falling out with their star players. The yankees should get him for sure, but whatever team does get him WILL have a proven MVP Champion. Iam thinking he's gonna resign with the Dodgers too
