Tokyo.– The Chunichi Dragons said that they have acquired four new foreign players from the Dominican Republic, none of whom have major league experience.

Dionys Cesar, 33, a switch-hitting outfielder who has played in Mexico, has agreed to a signing bonus of $50,000 with a salary of $250,000.

Right-hander Edward Valdez, 29, gets a signing bonus of $50,000 with a salary of $150,000 while left-hander Candido Jesus, 24, and right-hander Joaquin Santamaria, 20, join the team's development program.
