Santo Domingo.– Sammy Sosa
did not show up for a judicial hearing Friday in the Dominican Republic
regarding a lawsuit for $203,000 for alleged lack of payment from the
former major league player.
The hearing was rescheduled for December 18 due to Sosa's absence. Sosa
is being sued by Carim Abu Nabaa, who claims that Sosa owes him money
for several business transactions, including a $150,000 payment for the
sale of one of Sosa's real estate properties.
"I
am willing to settle if Sosa agrees. I don't want his money. In fact,
if I win the case I will donate the money to the poor children of this
country," Abu Nabaa said after the hearing in charge of prosecutor
Adolfo Feliz Perez was postponed. "I am willing to get a lie detector
test and if I'm not telling the truth I'll pay Sosa a million dollars."
Sosa's lawyer, Jose A. Figueroa, claimed the lawsuit is unfounded. "In
this case there won't be a friendly settlement because they don't have any merit in their claims," Figueroa said.

What do the plaintiff and defender sum up to? Zilch. Both have a turbulent financial history for scamming and non-payment of debts to suppliers. Including real stories that were published in the local press and didn't go any further.
Although I do sympathize with Abu Nabaa, having factual information about Sosa's cronies and his own sleazy treatment of suppliers and service providers.
If anybody should go to the slammer is Sosa's Dominican manager, Domingo (Minguin) Daujadre, ex-dollar-peso street changer now big time "banker".

NOT TO MAKE A COMPARISON..............Just like "El Tigre Woods Del Norte, East, West and South" like a sailor with a woman at every port. The bigger they are the harder they fall........down that is.
He's in the Wood Shed / seclusion now only to avoid the bad negative publicity and public opinion and the massive Child support and the massive Alimony that awaits him. Some just get real lucky that's all.
I can see all the pairs of NIKE trashed with the "Just do it" logo..........
