MEXICALI, Mexico. - Adrián González blasted three homeruns as the Venados de Mazatlán’s bats roared Wednesday in the 12-9 win over Dominican Republic’s Tigres del Licey, to close the first round of the Caribbean Baseball Series.

The Mexican team also took advantage of five Tigres errors and the San Diego Padres slugger becomes the first player to hit three homers in a Caribbean Series game, suspended for 41 minutes when the lights went out before the start of the 6th inning.

dread actually I always enjoy my visits to Puerto Plata ....I find it the most similar part of the DR to the English speaking Caribbean in architecture and flavour...It also is home to a more unusual expat crowd than is SD...actually I really like it....Great Line about pointing the hose hahahaha

GC, after seeing the glory of Jarabacoa, i wonger what the hell is Puerto Plata thinking. i realise it is larger, and harder to govern and maintain, but it is like two towns on different planets.
