I saw this game and what a deception. As a fan and as a Dominican I'm so disgusted with that team and Dominican MLB players in general. They all act like "divas" and forget that it is a team sport. For the most part they don't play for the honor to represent their country, they are so unpatriotic. But yet when they go bakc to DR they want to be treated like they are Kings of the World. I would be hard pressed to follow the next World Classic Team, even if the event is held in DR. They are a big joke and do not deserve any fans.

Seemed like every Dominican hitter was trying to crush a home run. No contact hitting against guys who can not pitch in AA.

of all our superstar pedro was the only one who show up to play. im happy for him expected nothing less from that professional. reading from a few article it seen the few star who show up to play for our country were more concerned with hoooker and boozer. THAT EMBARRASMENT PUT UP BY OUR COUNTRY BEATEN TWICE BY A SINGLE A TEAM WAS LIKE A CHINESE COMING TO DR TO PARTICIPATE IN A BACHATA TOURNAMENT AND WIN. i knew we werent that good to compete for the championship but to come out like this never in my wildest dream. simply stunning.

BenCardozo; I feel your pain. I have tickets to LA for Semis and Finals. I also bought some DR WBC gear that I have to wait 4 years to wear to a meaningful Classic game (you know what I will wear it regardless!!!) It's like punishment for laying out cash for this, in this economy. Now I gotta hear my wifey say "I told you so!" I may take a detour and hit Vegas on my way back from LA and see if I can win some of it back!! Yo sabía que esto no iba a terminar bien. Desde que vi que ni Vladimir, Manny, Pujols iban, y después Alex se jode de la cadera y a Beltre le dijeron que no, pensé, aquí hay algo! Don't get me wrong, we still had a squad, but too many guys said "No!" La próxima vez voy a comprar las taquillas para la primera ronda, por lo menos se que jugarán! Que Quille!!!!!!

This is a disgrace for my country. having a team with so much talent. I think that if we are going to win the NEXT World Classic. We should get NON-Major leage player, that are there to play and make a name for them self. Young blood hungry to be recognize. and not to worry about what demanded made by Major Leage Team on what there player can done or not. We have so much talent at the minor leage that we must us them. Well i guess I have to wait 4 more year to see what we are going to do in the Next World classic,

We have already sent our AAA to the PanAmerican games where Cuba and the U.S. wins it all. Our AAA also failed at the olympics (before WBC). We have no choice but to send the MLB players again by the time 2013 is here (the nex WBC), A-rod, Manny, Pujols, Aramis, Soriano, and others will be past their prime time and NO ONE WILL WANT THEM!
Watch them how they volunteer to play for DR in 2013 (trying to revive their past careers). We should never idolize nor glorifying these guys who use the WBC and DR to get contracts and revive previous glories!

It's a crying shame. I hope that the next team will be a little more humble in their approach to playing this game and will actually play like a cohesive, collect group = what a team should be. Baseball is a game of men not a game of name droppers and money hungry non-performing players. Lets see if the selection committy will do a better job a choosing better players next time. Cause this team was utterly DISGUSTING!!!! With the exception of the Pitchers (Marmol should be stoned to death, he should be dropped from any team and never be allowed to play the game EVER!!!) this team was a BIG BUST!!!

every time i see some politician talking about Competitivenes, i laugh. they think that you can legislate competitiveness. sorry, but it is a frame of mind. it is the quality that you have, or do not have, which orders you to give your best whenever you attempt something. you will not always be the equivalent of your adversary, but, if you leave it all on the field, then you are in with a fighting chance. the Netherlands, a club side at best, simply refused to lose. the DR, a world power, refused to win. it is called COJONES. down by a run in the 11th hour, they would not say die. this is a vital lesson in the human spirit, and what it takes to be a winner. sorry, DR prima donnas, but it is not about the Hummer and the Gucci. it is about guts and determination.
From: United States
Snoopy: I'm a little late to reply to your post, but I do not think Marmol should be stoned to death. Shit happens and especially to closers. The team should have scored 10000 runs and it should not have gone down to that.

xwill7, if your aunt had balls she would be your uncle. games are not played on paper. that is why we do not phone in the results, but play the game. on paper, the DR had a team which was as good as any, and superior to most. when the time came to dance, they all spread out on their backs like two dollar hookers, losing to far inferior opponents in the process. it is not the time to second guess the personnel selection. other teams beat them with less! it is called GUTS AND DETERMINATION. the same factor that precludes Alex Rodriquez from getting a hit when the money is on the table! some people call it CHARACTER.
