New York.– Five minor league players in the Dominican Summer League were suspended for 50 games on Thursday after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance.

Oakland pitchers Alexis Juma and Alex Nolasco, Los Angeles Angels pitcher Renedin Mesa, Philadelphia pitcher Joan Pascual and Phillies outfielder Jose Trinidad were penalized under baseball's minor league drug program.

Last year, 42 of 69 suspensions announced under the minor league program involved DSL players.

When will all these players learn that they most likely can't get away with it anymore!

I remember the days when I was told that sports was the way to keep away from drugs. Now it seems it's the way towards them.
What a sad thing.

These players get told by some fool that this will work and they can't get caught and they believe it.

I blame lack of education cause by corruption.

hey, it worked out for Sosa... he made his money. Do you think that he cares about hall of fame? He does not have to work another day in his life, Iam sure he does not regret anything.
