Berlin.- Dominican hurdler Felix Sanchez, after classifying for the 400 meter hurdle finals in Berlin’s World Championships today, said he’ll now for the gold although he knows it will not be easy.

"My mentality has always been to look for the gold for my country. Neither the silver nor the bronze has been of interest to me, I now have two days of rest and I now need to give everything in the final," the Olympic champion said.

Just saw the medal heat for this event, Mr. Sanchez finished in dead last place. I hope he does not recieve any negative backlash from Dominicans. This man put International Dominican athletics on the map, the first ever world champion and olympic champion for the D.R. He should always be treated with the highest regard and admiration.

Felix, we Dominican knows you did your best and are very proud of your performance, you look very strong at the finished of the semifinal and we all hope for gold at the finals but the fall at the beginning of the final heat was something that come with track and field competition. Come home soon.
