SAN FRANCISCO.- After an 18 year drought in pennants Santo Domingo’s Leones again savor a Dominican Winter Baseball crown.

Many hours of frustration have passed since January 29, 1992, when the team led by Felipe Alou defeated the Estrellas of San Pedro in four straight games.

Francisco Liriano hurled five solid innings as the Leones bats connected in the clutch, headed by Alexander Valdez with two hits and two RBIs, to lead the 5 to 2win over the Gigantes, in ninth and decisive game of the championship series held in the stadium Julian Javier.

Esta serie fue un rotundo exito para el Beisbol Domincano. Ahora a ver si El Escogido logra ganar la Serie del Caribe.
