Miami.– International Grand Prix rider Yvonne Losos de Muniz’s first experience in the ring with her new Austrian Grand Prix partner turned out to be a winning one, as the Dominican and the 16-year-old Optimus Prime won the Grand Prix Special at the Gold Coast Dressage Opener.

Losos de Muniz’s win earned her a beautiful polar fleece vest from Classic Equine Equipment, a nationally recognized leader in quality horse stall systems and stable accessories, and the sponsor of the class.

“I just bought Optimus Prime about a month ago and we are still figuring each other out in the ring, but he is a lovely horse,” Losos de Muniz said. “During the class I didn’t go for the impulsion or anything fancy. I went for a nice steady test and he gave me exactly what I asked for so I was super happy.”

The Dominican rider has a long list of accomplishments to her name, including earning Bronze Individual medals in the 2003 and 2007 Pan American Games. Losos de Muniz is in South Florida for the winter show season and said she was very appreciative that Classic Equine sponsored her class.

Born in Nigeria, Africa, Yvonne moved to Canada when she was fourteen. It was in 1990 that she moved to the Dominican Republic, where she has remained ever since. With her husband, Eduardo, Yvonne has played a key role in the development of dressage in the Dominican Republic, and she represents the Caribbean nation in international competition. The couple owns a private training facility named Las Marismas in their home country, which caters to dedicated jumper and dressage riders from island’s capital, Santo Domingo.

Unfortunately she doesn't care about her country, Dominican Republic. It's all about money.

I apologize for the stupid comments i made, i just had a bad day. Congratulations for winning of one of the most difficult dressage tests in the world, which truly needs a lot of effort in the preparation! We should never forget that the partner of a rider is an animal, to which we have to make understand what we expect.
