ISLA MARGARITA, Venezuela.- A daring steal of home plate by Freddy Guzman broke as seventh inning tie and Dominican Republic’s team Leones of Santo Domingo won 3-2 over Venezuela's Leones of Caracas in the Caribbean Series.

It’s the Dominican team's third straight victory in the series, as the Leones take a commanding lead in the series, while the three other clubs are 1-2.

With a a 2-0 lead by the Venezuelans in the third, the Dominicans chipped away with one run in the sixth and tying it in the seventh on Ramon Santiago's hit that drove in Pablo Ozuna. Guzman reached third and then stole home off pitcher Edgar Alfonzo.

Alfonzo threw to third trying to keep Guzman close. Instead, he broke for home and scored, sliding out of the reach of catcher Carlos Maldonado.

In the earlier game, the Puerto Rican club Indios of Mayaguez beat Mexico's Naranjeros of Hermosillo 5-3.

Lets not make the same mistake as the one we made during baseball classic event were we lost to a no name team like the one from Holland. Come home with the throne this time guys.

I am glad for the win, I watched the game and I was in shock, its not common to actually see home being stolen...It will still take another 3 years, though, for world redemption attempts in the next classic. Western countries have a lot fo work to do if they are going to beat Korea or Japan.

one more win should virtually wrap this up for us, only in the not likely event that one of the other teams wins all three games (today, tomorrow and Sunday), then a tiebreaker game would have to be played, otherwise we just need to win today to take it easy.
