PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic.- Through the lens of the photographer Daniel Harel, Facebook readers can peek at the thrill of the Red Bull Formula 1 speedster at the mega-resort Cap Cana, with Jaime Alguersuari behind the wheel and kicking up the dazzling white sand to a backdrop of turquoise waters.

But we’ll let the images tell it right: Click here to go to the photos.

Speed kills !

LOL a celibration of lower fuel prices ?

Watch out for the tourist tan seeking sun bathers......

Nothing like tearing up a good beach for the sake of promotion huh !

Lets hope they will clean-up the beach after their done and leave it in better condition then before the races, thats all.

riosm-I believe you and I have the same mindset. That was precisely the very first thing that poped into my head when I saw the picture of a formula 1 racing over the white sand with the backdrop of turquoise waters. How dare they "..tearing up a good beach for the sake of promotion.."

God this is what piss me off about tourism. They come in sqeeze, exploit and damage our natural resources until you could no longer sqeeze any more, only to later find out our "good intentioned investors" jumped ship, abandoned everything and left everyone behind to fend for themselves. I don't know, but aren't there any other more apropriate locations in the DR to hold a formula 1 race then to having held next to an almost pristine beach?

Guillermone,
That's because WE don't lack common sense.
How about the sand dunes of Bani with rock lined beaches ?

AnthonyC,
Are you into the racing promotion crap ?
Ever wonder why the "Baja 500" has been curtained ?
ALL lands must and has to be protected.
