MAYAGUEZ, Puerto Rico.– A strong waterspout touched down in the coastal city of Mayaguez at 12:35 pm destroying the entire lighting system, vehicles and injurying 7 people.

According to press sources in Puerto Rico, looking at the magnitude of the destruction and exposure of the electrical wiring and lighting systems, it is believed authorities will delay the opening ceremony of MAYAGUEZ 2010.

It was reoported that now it is impossible to get to the stadium because the rescue and recovery crews government closed access.

I always assumed that waterspouts would fall apart when they touched land. Guess I was wrong. Good thing it didn't hit when Tiesto performed.

As I understand it, the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again.... ;)
