The top qualifier in the men's 400M Hurdles was not Felix Sanchez with a semi-final heat-winning time of 50.19 but Javier Culson with a top qualifying time of 49.89, just read about in in USA Today. The final for this event is tonight at 8:40 P.M. E.S.T.

With Top Dog Cuba out of these Games, there are three very strong teams, Mexico[98], Venezuela[88], and Colombia[83] ], and two middle teams Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. PR and DR are tied with [22] Gold metals apiece, the defining metal count for position ranking. If two teams are tied in Gold metals, then the team having more silver metals gets a better placement, and so on. Let's hope for DR to win at least one more than PR. Felix Sanchez needs to beat Javier Culson tonight.

There are 43 gold metals for today's competition, 17 gold metals for tomorrow, 25 for Thursday, Friday's catch will be 22, and a final catch of 6. So the rankings are still subject to change.
