I am just wondering what negative angle Jim H, juanb or BASTA will be able to find about this promotional series of golf games held in the DR...Congratulations to the people responsible for the filming and for the main advertisers which , according to the previews, that I saw on channel39, is Casa de Campo .

If the government spokesman is weighing in on this there must be something wrong with it.

What we need here is a course for real people...an executive par 3 or something to the likes. Unbelievable how empty the courses are here...charging $150 for the cheapest course! Great marketing!!! What does a dad with a couple of kids who want to play...do? There is no reduced fees for younger golfers.

Golf's success is not based on the rich and famous, it is the hackers of the world. Price it right and they will come. Do it wrong and all you have left is money laundering...the choice is easy!

Aside from the Nicolas course in Cap Cana, I can play a better course back home for 50% less.

Mike you will find that there are a variety of associations where Dominicans and residents can play ..there are at least 2 associations on the Casa de Campo courses and another at la Estancia ...cost there is under $50 .

Hey Mike,

The greatest golfer of all times is still Jack Nicklaus not Nicholas Mike! If you are going to talk golf and try to have some credibility with people start by getting his name correct. Actually there is a large selection of courses at decent prices for locals in the DR. I will agree the game needs to continue to promote junior players and offer family deals. Mike can you really play a course like Teeth of the Dog, Playa Grande, Punta Cana, back home for 50 percent less? not likely,
I suggest you look around the islands and compare pricing the DR is expensive at certain times of the year but far from the most expensive in comparison to similar markets.
