Cleveland.- Dominican Ervin Santana yesterday pitched the first no-hitter by an Angels hurler in 27 years, striking out 10 and avenging the punishment by the Cleveland Indians, leading his team to a 3 to 1 win.

Santana let only two runners reach base, the first batter reached on an error, and the other with a walk in the eighth.

The pitcher (6-8) dominated Cleveland’s hitters throughout and threw the first hitless game by the Angels since Mike Witt’s perfect game on September 30, 1984.

Maybe I don't know my baseball as much as I should but, how can you have a "no-hitter" where only 2 made it on base and yet the opposing team has 1 run??

Edit: Ah, I see from another article elsewhere that he had 1 unearned run from a wild pitch. Not mentioned in this article.
