Santo Domingo.- Hurricane Sandy’s rains over Dominican territory have completely snarled the schedule of the country’s recently launched Winter Baseball Season.

Just four days have been completed in the tournament started on October 14, and nine games have been suspended.

Los Toros of La Romana (east) have played practically every game, with only one suspended, given the lower amounts of rainfall over that part of the country. The rest have three suspensions each.

Seven games have been suspended in the last three days, including yesterday’s, on bad weather, with suspensions are expected to continue today.

The postponements will force several teams to play more than 10 consecutive games, a pace which could cause problems such as injuries.
