Santo Domingo.- The U.S. State Department could pardon the Dominican baseball players caught with a false identity, said that country’s Consul general William Weissman on Tuesday.

“I cannot speak of a particular case because each case is different, but in the case of the ballplayers they could be pardoned,” the diplomat said during a cocktail hosted by the U.S. embassy for the Dominican baseball player to promote the program “Alliance for Dominican Development.”

The pitchers Leo Núñez (Juan Carlos Oviedo) and the Fausto Carmona (Roberto Hernandez Heredia) were caugth with false identities and in the latter’s case, was charged with forgery.

Weissman said it’s important for the consular authorities that a person using a false identity goes and admits it on their own and not wait to be caught for that reason. “The fact that the violator is not caught by us can be of much help with the American laws.”

During the activity Sports minister Felipe Payano asked the U.S. authorities to pardon the players involved in the cases of fake IDs. “For those baseball players who are in difficult situations, we ask that you consider what they represent for the Dominican Republic and their families.”

They should go easy on these guys. They come from a county where phony is normal and the law is a joke.

Roy,

Some heavy fines and restitution of their work status. Basta you are over the top. Try being reasonable. The DR has never been a well governed nation-state and document manipulation has been a running joke for many generations.

Meanwhile, back at the US/Mexico border those with fake ID's are put on the southbound bus. Guess, they don't have benefactors pleading their cause at cocktail parties. Maybe they should say they are ball players.

Of course they will pardon them.. uncle Sam can't turn away the tax revenue generated by the multi-million dollar incomes of these players.

just lie. the truth can be boring and very confining, so set your self free! why bother with the truth when you have a vast universe of lies to choose from.
to truly be a an effective liar to others first you need to be an effective liar to yourself. so make sure you cling to a rigorously fantasies that define the real you that never was. hey! want to be a doctor? forget medical school: just tell people you're a doctor! see how easy it is, bam, now your one doctor.
deny responsiibility. events that don't serve to strengthen your fabricated and delusional reality require your denial of them.
douche bags. {they are}

they are not my so-called heroes,
my heroes are good guys not ones that take drugs, when their mouths open they spit out lies, they lie to them selfs, their friends and family, they just lie
{its for the money and lust}
they are on the path to becoming a weak, pathetic and needy human piece of shit with little or no real concern for others- in essence- a douche bag.

The US Department of State would be sending a wrong message if it advances to pardon the ball players for acts of fraud.

Hillary Clinton take notice, do you know what your subordinates are suggesting? The policy of the department should be consistent, those persons who enter the US by means of fraud should be deported and they can reapply for entry if they feel justified. Those who fraudulently apply for entry be denied entry. There should be no exception to fraudulent acts across the board and the consul general should know better than to suggest a pardon.

"hey! MR. ANTHONY YOU CAN DO BETTER THEN THIS/ LETS SAY WEAK COMMENT."

Can't get any simpler than that. Just like GM and Chrysler Obama will "forgive" these douche-bag, criminals past "indiscretions" in order to get that Campaign Donation.

I stated earlier that:
"They should go easy on these guys. They come from a county where phony is normal and the law is a joke."
I was minus'd out, so I must be wrong.
There is no counterfeiting of documents here, and the law is impartial, effective and properly administered.
Yeah, right!

Somebody should pay the price! If I was an owner and I signed some guy whose papers said he was 27 and he actually is 34 then I am not receiving from him what is in the contract! What if he blows out his elbow b/c he's actually years older than what his documents state!? If someone sold you a car and said it was in perfect condition and it had it's original parts buutttt it died 4 months later and you then found out that it was in 3 previous accidents would you feel that your transaction was fair? they should have these guys sign something like a truth in lending... call it a truth of not lying agreement...

Good point, HateitorLOVEIT,
I wonder if USA has laws against discrimination on the basis if age, as some politically-correct countries do?
