Santo Domingo.- Slugger Vladimir Guerrero signed a of Minor Leagues contract with the Toronto Bluejays for US$1.3 million, said the American League MVP player.
He said he’ll head to the Canadian team’s camp in Dunedin, Florida for extended training prior to his return to the Major Leagues. “God willing I’m going to Florida for training next Monday or Tuesday to get me ready before going to the Minors and later join the Major League team.”
Guerrero, 37 years, has homered 449 times in 16 seasons in the Majors, hitting .290 with 13 homeruns and 63 RBIs for the Orioles last year.

The late 90's and early 00's were the best of times!!! The homerun chase was great. Baseball should do something to raise the homerun numbers again.
Thats because there were so many homerun hitters on steroids. There were not having that anymore , to many cheaters in sports now in days , even in football look at the new england patriots got caught recording there opponents playcalls , and now the new orleans saints got caught holding bounties on players last year , theres no room for cheaters in sports.

UPDATE: It’s all over. The Blue Jays have released Vlad Guerrero, at his request. He is a free agent.
12:00 PM: One reporter is saying that Vlad Guerrero is done, but Vlad’s agent is saying no way, nothing is further from the truth. Perchance there is something in between here? Enrique Rojas says there is: he has left the Jays’ Triple-A team in Las Vegas and has given the team an ultimatum:
After going 4-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs for Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday, Guerrero gathered his belongings and went to his home in Anaheim, Calif.
“Guerrero is ready to play today in the big leagues,” a source close to the nine-time All-Star said.
