Santo Domingo.- The fighters from the Caribbean Health Taekwondo School jumped, kicked and punched their way to gold medals and trophies in the Ivan Tejeda Cup held Sunday in the Olympic Center. The professors Enmanuel Concepcion Valencia, Raffi Antonio Ramirez and Dorian D’Silva led the school’s martial arts students to the near sweep in the competition’s various categories: Best Form, Top Fighter and Best Form female, in the competition for children and adolescents.
White belt Emil E. Fernandez took top honors as the event’s Top Fighter in the 6-7 age bracket; Antonio Avendaño won three gold medals, followed by Jeury Santana, Adem Hoschanller, Diccia D. Pineda, Joseph Mejia, and Moises Fernandez Reyes, with two gold medals each.
Second place in the overall points standing went to the Maestro Ivan Tejada Dojo of Santo Domingo, while the Maestro Moises School of Villa Mella took third sort of the nine schools which competed in the regional event..
Master Maximo A. Concepcion, 6 Dan of the World Taekwondo Federation, founded Caribbean Health on July 7, 1999, in the sector Bella Vista.
