London.– Dominican boxer Junior Castillo Martinez was defeated (13-6) by Great Britain's Anthony Ogogo in the Men's Middle (75kg) Round of 32 Bout 1 boxing match at ExCeL venue during the London 2012 Olympic Games July 28.
Ogogo took the fight to the Dominican in the first round and had established a 3-2 lead by the end of the three minutes. The Brit's work rate in the second round, and a crisp right hand, saw him stretch his advantage to five points. The 23-year-old found the target with a few nice shots in the last round as well, and the judges awarded him a 13-6 victory.
Five of Ogogo’s 10 team-mates were given byes, while super-heavyweight Anthony Joshua, who has been seeded second, will face Cuban legend Felix Savon’s nephew Erislandy Savon Cotilla.
